Bishop McAleenan said the government needs urgently to tackle the known structural inequalities that have left some communities paying such a high price.
‘It is right that the Catholic community fulfils its role in contributing to the preservation of life and the common good of society. This must continue until the restrictions applied by the Government are lifted.’
This Sunday sees a special streamed Mass at Walsingham House at Abbotswick for young people who would, in normal circumstances, have been meeting Bishop Alan at Brentwood Cathedral ahead of Confirmation in their parishes. It also is an occasion to pray for vocations.
