The seventh World Day of the Poor will be celebrated by the Catholic Church on Sunday 19 November, with the theme of “Do not turn your face away from anyone who is poor”.
As part of Aid to the Church in Need (ACN)’s #Red Wednesday 2023 celebrations at Southwark Cathedral on 22 November, the charity will be presenting its new Courage to be Christian award. The theme this year is the persecuted Church in Africa.

The groups highlight the latest assessment of the two-child cap, published by the University of York, which found that the policy had “a negative impact on people’s mental health, increasing stress and anxiety, and harming their well-being, with knock-on effects on children's opportunities and wellbeing”.
