Mrs Louisa Cooley, who turned 100 years old recently, is a regular at Holy Family parish, Dagenham. Parish priest Fr Stephen Myers says: “Louisa lives locally, has been part of the parish for about 65 years and comes to Mass every week. Her husband died several years ago and at that time she wasn’t very well but she has bounced back. She has a very clear mind.”
After Mass Fr Stephen congratulated Louisa, who was accompanied by her daughter, on her significant anniversary on behalf of the parish. Rita Cody, parish secretary, presented her with a huge bunch of flowers, some bubbly and a cake. The presentation was rounded off with a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday from the congregation.
