The Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage Director, Fr Paul Keane, has invited people across the diocese to join Bishop Alan on the 2024 Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes. This annual event will take place from Friday 19 – Friday 26 July.
Says Fr Paul: “Pilgrimages can be significant in a Catholic’s life because Heaven invites us to grow closer to the Lord by travelling to places established for prayer, healing, and fellowship. Lourdes is such a place. I warmly invite you to come with us this year.” He also thanked parishes for their contributions to a second collection for the Diocesan Lourdes Fund on the first weekend in February.
He said: “In recent years, this fund has enabled us to subsidise nurses, doctors, and helpers so that we have the team we need to support all our pilgrims, especially our assisted pilgrims. The Fund also allows us to fund pilgrims who otherwise would not be able to join the pilgrimage. If you have a parishioner who may need help to join the pilgrimage, please e-mail [email protected] .”
