Forthcoming clergy moves are announced

The following appointments will take effect on the weekend of 7/8 September:

ASSISTANT PRIESTS
Fr Paschal Uche from Chelmsford to Grays

Fr Frank Westcott (newly Ordained) to Hornchurch, St Mary
Fr Saji Thomas RCJ from Basildon to East Ham

Fr Grzegorz Borski (new to Diocese) to Clacton

Fr Shinto Verghese CRM of the Catholic Syro-Malabar Eparchy will be a priest
in residence at Our Lady & St George, Walthamstow.

Fr Paul Boagey, MHM currently undertakes limited pastoral work in Grays
Parish, particularly with the sick and housebound and with travellers. Fr Paul will also minister in a similar capacity in the Chelmsford parishes [Our lady Immaculate, Holy Name, St Augustine’s] with effect from the beginning of September.

Fr John Victor Drabeesan will end his appointment in St Stephen’s, Manor
Park at the beginning of September. At some point he will then return to the
Latin Archdiocese of Trivandrum where new appointments commence with effect
from April of next year.

RETIREMENTS
Fr Leslie Knight will retire as Parish Priest of Hutton & Shenfield.
Canon William Young will retire as Parish Priest of St Mary & St Ethelburga
with St Mary & St Erconwald [Barking 1]. He will continue to serve on the College of Consultors.
Fr John Corbyn (Ord) will retire as Parish Priest of Old Harlow but
will continue to live within the diocese. Fr John will continue as Dean for a while as the Vision Process continues to take shape in the West Essex Partnerships.
