Bishop Emeritus Thomas McMahon celebrates his 60th anniversary of priesthood today, 28 November 2019. He trained at St Sulpice in Paris and was ordained at Wonersh in 1959. He served in the parishes of Colchester, Westcliff and Stock, and as chaplain at Essex University from 1972 until 1980 when he was consecrated as Bishop of Brentwood. He retired in 2014.
On behalf of the clergy and lay people of the Diocese, Bishop Alan Williams said: “We offer our warmest and prayerful congratulations to Bishop Thomas on the occasion of his 60th anniversary of ordination today. We give thanks to God for all these years of faithful and fruitful priestly & episcopal ministry.”
