On Sunday 23 February the service of Evensong at Balliol College, Oxford, will commemorate the 150th anniversary of one its alumni, Fr Thomas Byles, the Parish Priest of Ongar who perished aboard the Titanic in 1912. The Cause for Beatification for Father Byles is in its preliminary stages under the auspices of the Diocese of Brentwood. The service will commence at 5.30pm.
