Over the weeks and months ahead we will be adding to this page; please tell us about wonderful parks and places of beauty in your area – just email [email protected] with the place name, and a link to their website.
Three websites with links to several locations in Brentwood Diocese (Essex and East London), as well as in West London, Hertfordshire, Kent and Suffolk (the counties that border the Diocese), are the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, with fabulous reserves for bird watching and walking; the Wildlife Trusts (Essex and London) who look after a number of parks, again with wonderful walking and excellent wildlife; and The National Trust, who look after several properties, often with wonderful grounds and/or walks nearby. These organisations also provide many activities for families, especially in school holidays, as well as more detailed courses for adults who want to learn more.
To find out more about the places on the map, simply click on the name below. There is a real treasure trove here – even people who have lived in the Diocese for decades don’t know about many of these places. Find somewhere new, and glory in God’s creation. Enjoy your visits!
