The Government Department for Culture, Media & Sport writes:

The fifth annual COVID-19 Day of Reflection, will take place on Sunday 9 March.

Community organisations, local authorities, faith/belief organisations and individuals across the UK will be marking it in a variety of different ways, from holding a moment of silence, creating an online memorial, attending a community-led event or lighting a candle for a loved one.

There are many ways in which people can get involved, should they wish to do so:

  • Explore the Day of Reflection interactive map to see what is happening in your local area.

  • Watch the livestream of the NHS Charities Together COVID-19 commemoration ceremony, taking place at the National Memorial Arboretum on Sunday 9, March at 12pm.

  • Watch testimonial videos on DCMS channels from families impacted by COVID-19 about what the Day of Reflection means to them.

  • Show support for the Day of Reflection on your social channels.

  • Donate to a charity. To find charities in England and Wales, check the charity register.

  • Reflect, remember and commemorate in whatever way is most appropriate for you.

There are educational and bereavement resources on our website as well: Get involved – Covid Day of Reflection

It’s not too late to add events or spaces for reflection to our online interactive events map.
