The Canonesses of the Holy Sepulchre are hosting a talk by Rev Dr Liam Hayes at New Hall School. The talk, part of the BIG QUESTIONS series, will draw extensively on the voices and stories included in ‘Believing, not Belonging’ (a Brentwood Diocese research paper published in 2023).
We will hear from those who feel that they do not belong. By listening to and reflecting on them, those who join the session will gain an understanding of why some Christians no longer engage in the liturgical and wider life of their communities. We hope to use those voices and stories to identify positive and hopeful ways in which Christian communities may be re-imagined, and re-engage with those who no longer participate in the liturgical and wider life of their parishes.
The talk, followed by discussion, starts at 7pm on Wed 22 January. Refreshments will be served from 6.30pm. No cost to attend.
All are welcome but need to register via the following link https://canonesses.co.uk/event/why-do-people-no-longer-go-to-church-wed-22-jan-2025/
